WALTER F. MILLER

In accordance with Walter’s wishes, there will be no formal service. Private inurnment will take place at a later date at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing. Arrangements are entrusted to Rupp Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Chisholm.

Walter F. Miller, age 90, of Hibbing, passed away January 21, 2010 at Hillcrest Adams Assisted Living facility. He was born on May 24, 1919 in Hibbing to John and Zora (Rusic) Miller. He was employed by Shubat transportation for many years and the Hibbing School District. He was a WWII veteran and served in the Philippines on Corregidor Island, having served in the Pacific Theater receiving 4 bronze stars, a silver star and a purple heart.

Survivors include his sons – Charles (Connie) of Hibbing, MN; John (Lynne) of Washington, IL; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother – Edward (Elizabeth) of Minnetonka, MN; sister – Dorothy Oberstar of Cloquet; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife – Margaret S. on 7/16/06 and by a sister – Olga Tometi.
