A Celebration of Life will be held from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. on Friday, December 1, 2017, at Rupp Funeral Home & Cremation Service Chapel in Chisholm. Rev. Fr. Frank Perkovich will offer prayers at 5:00 p.m. A celebration lunch will be held at Jim’s Sports Club Bar and Grill immediately following.

Paul Anthony Staffaroni, 66, of Buhl, MN, has lost his battle with multiple health problems and passed to eternal life on November 20, 2017.

Paul was born on January 31, 1951, to Jeanne and Louis Staffaroni, and was a lifelong Buhl resident. He graduated from Buhl High School in 1969, Mesabi Community College in 1971, and attended Bemidji State University. He was very proud of his seven years of service in the National Guard.

Paul began his career with Baker Engineering and continued to work as a land surveyor, retiring after 37 years of service from the same company that is now called Benchmark Engineering.

Throughout most of his life, he was known to many as “Carbon”, “Beef”, or “Staff” depending on where you live. Paul loved to curl. Second to curling, he was an outdoor enthusiast – hunting, fishing, golfing, or simply enjoying relaxing at his cabin on Bear Lake.

An avid gardener, Paul could be found talking to the plants and making sure there wasn’t one weed to invade his creations or riding around town to check out the “competition” and compare notes. When the season ended, he would make quarts of antipasto and give away his fruits of labor to anyone who appreciated fresh garden produce.

Paul is survived by his wife of 38 years, Melody Gravich Staffaroni; brother and “best friend”, David (Karen) Staffaroni; brother-in-law, Joe Gravich; special niece, Dana (Joe) Pahkala and their daughter, Anna; three nieces, Jewel (Chris) Plocienik, Halee Gravich, and Tayler (Tyler) Crandall; four great nieces; two great nephews; his baby dog, “Squirt”; and numerous extended family and friends.
